Frequently Asked Questions ...

Q: Why use still photography and not just video?

A: Several reasons. For one, not everyone has boxes of videotape laying around. It's more likely, however, that they have a closet full of old scrapbooks with still photography. For another, there's a special beauty to still photography that is usually not there with video. Add to that the zooming and panning techniques we use to bring those still photographs to life, tightly synchronizing them to music, and you have a very special presentation.

That's not to say we don't mix still images and video footage in our shows. We can and we do. But our philosophy is that video is a better delivery system than the actual product itself. Put another way, it would be like driving a cargo van to a Hollywood premiere. With that said, the mainstay of our productions is still photography.

Q: What makes a Home Page Ink production different than any other slide show?

A: We have been making slide shows and music videos for 30 years when the technology was still in its infancy. Combine that "back to basics" sensibility with our Hollywood background, along with the sensitivity we bring to the needs of your project and, as we have been told many times, you have a hit on your hands.

Q: Where is the actual work done?

A: All production is done in a custom designed Airstream travel trailer studio, which moves around the country from location to location. Right now our home base is in San Diego, California, but at any given point you can find us just about anywhere on the North American continent working on shows.

Q: If you travel around so much, how do we communicate with you to assure that the needs of our project are being met?

A: E-mail via the satellite dish on our studio trailer is our preferred method of communication. That way we have something in writing that clarifies your direction. It's also the best way to receive your visual materials. It's far faster and more reliable than regular mail. As a matter of fact, if you have a computer with an email account, we can produce your show without you having to even leave the house. Our work can be done without a handshake - except of course in thought.

Q: How do I pay for your services? If it's all done over the internet, is it safe?

A: Absolutely! All transactions relating to your show (typically the initial deposit to get us started and the final payment after you approve the show) are made with your credit card using our PayPal verified account on this website. These charges appear on your credit card statement just like any other credit card transaction you make in a store or a restaurant.

Q: PayPal? What is PayPal?

A: PayPal is a secure means of making online payments using military-strength encryption to keep your account information safe. Your financial details (credit card and bank details) are processed and held by PayPal until they are verified, and not by us. As a matter of fact, we never even see your account information. What this does is assure you nothing less than top security in making purchases on the internet.

Q: With all the new technology available, isn't using still photography for your shows kind of old fashioned?

A: Not at all. As a matter of fact, the way we marry music and images together has been described as "groundbreaking". Besides ... sometimes being old fashioned is a good thing :-)
